Grand Opening - Pig and Whistle

I'm just back in the office after a very successful opening yesterday, the 4th.  The weather was terrible, mud and rain, but it was cool and breezy, which helped keep people outside much of the time.

The inside of the pub was crowded... they liked it that way.  The conversations were verbose and animated, the music was difficult to hear, the bartender (dear sweet thing) was very busy and being fixed up by every mother and grandmother of a wide assortment of l9 year old girls.  Finally, one grandmother asked very publicly (after several drinks) what it would take for Alex to become interested in her granddaughter.  He responded that there was nothing anyone could offer that was better than what he has, and that was the end of that.

There were a total of +200.  The bar worked well, the seating was fun for table-hopping, the champagne flowed and the shrimps were large, lovely, sweet and cold.  The dip was sweet and spicy; the veggies were crunchy enough to be heard across the room.

The next event will occur in the Biergarten, and the following will be in the Weingarten.
